What Does Sub-Acute Care Mean?
Sub-acute care refers to treatment in a registered medical facility approved by the Board of Healthcare Funders, offering more affordable rates with the consent and authorization of your Medical Aid.
We work with all medical aid providers. You need not struggle; leave the paperwork to us!
At DOCHAS, you can benefit from recovery and rehabilitation in a serene and professional environment with 24-hour nursing care.
As a patient, you can choose where you receive aftercare treatment, ensuring it is as close as possible to your family and home.
DOCHAS provides individualised care plans created by professional and experienced staff to ensure recovery and rehabilitation goals are met.
You May Consider Sub-Acute Care If:
- Post-operation recovery support is needed.
- Rehabilitation assistance.
- Assistance is needed to carry out daily living activities like dressing, walking, and bathing.
- Post-hip or knee replacement care.
- Aftercare and rehabilitation following a stroke.
- Support for heart failure, kidney failure, dehydration, lung disease, or other health concerns.
- Treatment required for wound care, pneumonia, or bronchitis
- Acceptance of WCA patients. The compensation fund covers an employee who is:
- permanently employed
- a domestic worker in a boarding house
- an apprentice or trainee farm worker and
- a worker paid by a labour agency.
